Digestive Processes - Of The Body

The Oesophagus is the part of the alimentary canal which connects the throat to the stomach. In humans and other vertebrates it is a muscular tube lined with mucous membrane.
The Oesophagus is a muscular tube connecting the throat  with the stomach
As a person swallows, food moves from the mouth to the throat, also called the pharynx.

The Stomach is an internal organ in which the major part of the digestion of food occurs, being (in humans and many mammals) a pear-shaped enlargement of the alimentary canal linking the Oesophagus to the small intestine

The stomach is located on the left side of the upper abdomen. It is usually filled with air that enters the stomach when you swallow. In the largest part of the stomach, called the body, food is churned and broken into smaller pieces, mixed with acidic gastric juice and enzymes, and pre-digested.

Small intestine. The small intestine is the part of the intestines where 90% of the digestion and absorption of food occurs, the other 10% taking place in the stomach and large intestine. The main function of the small intestine is absorption of nutrients and minerals from food.

The liver's main job is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the bodyThe liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. a large lobed glandular organ in the abdomen of vertebrates, involved in many metabolic processes.
Large intestine The major function of the large intestine is to absorb water from the remaining indigestible food matter and transmit the useless waste material from the bodyThe large intestine is the final section of the gastrointestinal tract that performs the vital task of absorbing water and vitamins while converting digested food into feces.
